Vance Badawey is the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Indigenous Services. Vance Badawey is a member of the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities.


Vance Badawey has over 17 years of experience in public life as a city councillor and, later, mayor of Port Colborne. As part of his municipal experience, he encouraged economic growth and business investment through initiatives like establishing an economic gateway zone to encourage cross-border trade and expanding community investment programs. As part of the largest contingent of Indigenous members ever elected to the House of Commons, Badawey self-identifies as Métis.


Vance was re-elected in the 2019 and 2021 elections.


Vance has spent over 35 years in the private sector, and a proud 4th generation operator of his family businesses. Vance operates two family businesses; George Badawey Ltd, a marine supplies company, and Vance Badawey and Associates. He was also a founding member of the Wellspring Niagara Cancer Support Centre, which provides free support to individuals living with cancer and their families.


Vance has volunteered with the Port Colborne Kinsmen Club, United Way, the Knights of Columbus, and has coached youth hockey and soccer. Vance and his extended family have lived and operated their family business in Port Colborne for over 50 years. Vance is married to Lisa, and they have two teenage daughters, Logan and Jordan.
